Wayne P. Flaherty, 56, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on July 27, 2018, at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born in Logansport, Indiana.
He served his country in the United States Army during the mid 1980’s and following his service to the country, he became a Sheet Metal Mechanic in the Aviation Industry. Wayne was passionate about hunting, fishing, his guns and his Harley. He loved being outdoors and loved being out on the ocean.
Everyone loved him because of his sense of humor and he was always a comedian and a great storyteller. He could make anyone laugh. Wayne was known to have a big heart and was for sure a rule breaker; but, he wore his heart on his sleeve. While at times he might be considered just a big kid; he was also an honest and loyal friend.
He is survived by his parents, Lester and Sandy Flaherty; his son, Andrew; daughters, Savannah Winn and Amy Sunday; brother, Danny (Sherry); sister, Dawn (Coleman) Leslie; and his grandchildren, Mikah and Jazlynn Flaherty.
Services are scheduled from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel, 2932 Highway 41 North, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030. Their phone number is 478-333-3006.
