William “Bill” Miller was born in Johnstown, PA to William Miller and Francis Marshall on December 23, 1933. He passed away on August 5, 2016 at the age of 82 at Bay Pines VA Medical Center. William was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Miller (Kevin) Schrat in January 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Huffman Miller. Nancy and William moved here to Florida from Reading, PA in the 1970’s. Additionally he is survived by sons Mark Miller (Alicia) of Seminole, Florida, Michael Miller of Pinellas Park, Florida; daughters Marcia Miller (John) Muench of Algoma, Wisconsin, Michelle Ann Miller of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren Jeanette, Danielle, Jason, Kelly, Nicole, Tracy, C.J., Melissa; and six great-grandchildren.
William was a graduate of Johnstown High School in 1951 and then enlisted in the Navy in 1952. William retired from the Navy with 20 years of service finally retiring as a Chief Petty Officer and working as a Hospital Corpsman. He was a proud member of the American Legion and a Life Member of the VFW.
In lieu of flowers the Miller family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice at Bay Pines VA Medical Center.
A graveside service with military honors provided by the United States Navy is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:30 pm.
