William F. Boyden-ETN1-US Navy-SSN 588-USS SCAMP


William F. Boyden, 75, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on March 26, 2022 at Sabal Palms of Largo, Largo, Florida.  He was born in Cortland, New York on December 30, 1946 to Floyd William and Darlene (Mead) Boyden.  He moved to the local area in 2000 from Dryden, New York and was a maintenance man for many years for JC Penny Company. He was of the Methodist faith and served for 10 years in the US Navy Submarine Services as a ETN1.  He served aboard the submarine USS 588-USS Scamp.

Predeceased buy his parents, Floyd; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Boyden; a grandchild, Hannah Boyden and a sister, Diane McEver.  William is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela (Norris) Boyden of Clearwater, Florida;  mother Darlene Boyden of Clearwater, Florida; four sons:  Ron Boyden and wife, Doris of Freeville, New York; Ken Boyden of Syracuse, New York; Daryl Boyden and his wife, Vickie of Clearwater, Florida and Shawn Boyden and his wife, Betsy of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Carolyn Bartlett of Oswego, New York; a sister, Sue Garcia of Largo, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services with full military honors by the US Navy Honors and Ceremonial Team and American Legion Post 273 will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 beginning at  11:00 AM, at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33774.   Arrival at BayPines around 1045 is encouraged.
