Zacarias Marroquin


In loving memory of Zacarias Marroquin, age 86, of Tampa, Florida, who peacefully passed away surrounded by friends and family at home on May 2nd, 2024. Born on September 6th, 1937, in Urape, Michoacán, Mexico, to Francisco Marroquin and Maria Guadalupe Rojas. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his wife of 30 years, Yesenia Marroquin; his children Francisco (Janet), Louis (Bobbie), Maria (Walter), Gina (David), and Yuly (Andrew), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who were the joy of his life.

Zacarias, affectionately known as Zack, was a man of many accomplishments. He served his country with honor in the US Air Force for 21 years, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. His dedication to community service was equally commendable, as he held leadership roles in the Shriners Society of Tampa and actively participated in various community organizations such as the Knights of Columbus Ambassador Council 11211 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul Charity. His compassion for the less fortunate touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on our community.

The funeral services to honor Zacarias will be conducted on May 16th at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Following the service, a brunch will be hosted by the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry. A private burial will be held on May 17th at Bay Pines National Cemetery.

Zacarias Marroquin will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family and country but also for his unwavering commitment to serving others and making the world a better place. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
